Something new is landing at the shop: a golf simulator, and with it, club fitting. From here on, Yorkville Golf can help two ways. We can help assess and adjust the clubs already in your bag, or fit you for a brand-new set of PXG clubs. Either way, it covers everything you carry, driver through putter.
For a city golfer, that matters more than it might seem. Most of us bought clubs off a rack, off a marketplace listing, or out of a friend's trunk, and have been guessing ever since. Whether your home course is Marine Park, Clearview, or Van Cortlandt, the guess shows up the same way: a miss you cannot explain that follows you from round to round. And with the season winding down, winter is exactly the right time to sort the bag out, so you show up in April with equipment that is actually set up for your swing.
Fit the clubs you already own
You do not need new clubs to benefit from a fitting. Often the heads you have are fine and the setup is the problem. Once the simulator is set up, we can look at how you actually deliver the club instead of guessing, then help assess what in your bag is worth adjusting: bending lofts and lies, regripping, or reshafting where the club allows it.
That is what changes with fitting. A loft and lie bending used to start from your best guess about your specs. The goal now is for the numbers to come first and the adjustment to follow them. If you have been playing clubs that were handed down or bought secondhand, this is the cheapest way to find out what they can actually do for you.
Get fit for new PXG clubs
If it is time for new equipment, we are fitting for PXG. PXG clubs are designed to be adjusted, and a data-driven fitting is how you get the most out of them: the session measures your swing, and the clubs get built and dialed to match it, not the other way around.
The fitting covers the whole bag. Driver, fairway woods, hybrids, irons, wedges, and putter each get their own look, because the spec that suits your 7-iron tells us something different than the one that suits your driver. The point is to see what the ball actually does with each club instead of trusting a sticker on a shaft.
Who a fitting is for
Beginners get more out of fittings than anyone, because a first set that matches your swing keeps you from building habits around equipment that fights you. Mid-handicappers chasing consistency usually find one or two specs doing most of the damage. And if you are a strong player, the numbers let us fine-tune instead of overhaul. Whatever your level, the session is about your swing, not a sales pitch.
